Photography Workshops - With Photo-Journalist Jonathan Taylor

I am very excited to draw peoples attention to the fact that Jonathan Taylor the Photojournalist I interviewed in 2006 (http://www.chapterthirteen.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=46&Itemid=46) is hosting two full day teaching workshops on Saturday the 12th 2008 and the Saturday 26th of July 2008.

This is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to take their photography up a level or two. Its also a first as prior to this time Jonathan has only taught in his photography school in Asia. It's safe to say that were it not for this minor geographic inconvenience I'd already have...

After a previous digital workflow article I was asked if I had experience of a program to save space by finding and removing duplicates on a hard drive. The use of a program like this this being obvious too anyone with multiple Gigabytes of .tif photographs and .mp3's clogging their hard drive. This is an all to common scenario in the modern digital darkroom.

Mounting and Finishing Photographs

Photographer Chris Shepherd has recently written a rather good series on his blog explaining in depth how to mount and frame your photographs. My guilty secret is that as I always pay someone else to do this for me his article is all new information for me. It's very important information and well wroth digesting if you want to exhibit or sell prints. I have included links to all seven of Chris's articles and really recommend them as an in depth and usefull read.

Powers of Stop and Search (UK)
Unfortunately in the current age of tabloid press and moral panic there is an enemy under every bed. In fact if the press are to be believed the general public is composed solely of sinister people we are to all to fear and distrust (for our own good and their circulation...).
Sadly for photography the collateral damage of this culture of paranoia has been a certainty in the eyes of many of the public that any photographer in any public place is either a paedophile or a terrorist. It would seem in the eyes...
