I am very excited to draw peoples attention to the fact that Jonathan Taylor the Photojournalist I interviewed in 2006 is hosting two full day teaching workshops on Saturday the 12th 2008 and the Saturday 26th of July 2008.
This is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to take their photography up a level or two. Its also a first as prior to this time Jonathan has only taught in his photography school in Asia. It's safe to say that were it not for this minor geographic inconvenience I'd already have been stalking contacting Jonathan asking for tips on Documentary photography!
Not only are the classes now in the UK but the prices are extremely competative for what they offer. The classes will be held in John Harvard Library on Borough High Street, London. This is just a quick walk from London Bridge Railway and Underground Station. The courses are as follows
Saturday the 12th of July 2008
People and Street Portrait Photography Workshop:
This is a class that helps students learn how to approach, relax and take good people street photographs. This class is useful to all level of students.
Saturday the 26th of July 2008
Feature and Documentary Photography WorkshopThis class teaches how to approach a photographic story, from conception to completion. It shows the method of producing a set of photographs with a narrative and talks about the markets available for the piece. This is an intermediate to advance level class.
The structure for each workshop will be to give a slide show illustrating and clarifying the day's targets. Followed by student's photography. In the early evening students return to the class for picture editing and group photography critique.
The price for each workshop is only 155 Pounds Sterling (300 USD) and can be booked on Jonathan's website
