About David Toyne
Photographer David Toyne at work © Genevieve Rainey Founder of Chapter 13 Photography. I originally conceived the idea in 2003 and created the web site in January 2004. I am also the Professional Photographers Portfolio Section editor on ePHOTOzine.com. So if you're a professional photographer who wants to raise their profile contact me and we can discuss it.
I developed an interest in photography at around 10 years of age after exposure to the wonderful work of Frank Meadow Sutcliffe. This was further interest was further ingrained upon me when I first laid eyes on the now iconic image of the Afghan girl taken by documentary photographer par excellence Steve McCurry
Initially life conspired to deflect me away from pursuit of photography, as much to my surprise, I became an engineer. A side-effect of this was to give me an opportunity to obtain qualifications in draftsmanship and also experience in graphic design. Both these experiences are evident in aspects of my photography to this day.

A graphic artist of the highest order. I love his affinity for optical illusion and the absurd within seemingly ordered images.
